Tips for Job Seekers
To help you get a job at the beach, we've created this section to help you get an advantage. Especially if this is your first time looking for a job. We've got sample resumes, a few cover letters, and a list of words to use that will help you stand out of the crowd. Below are tips that apply for all job seekers. Just click on one of the links at the bottom of the page to start learning more...
You need to find your own housing. Many summer workers rent rooms in private houses. See local papers, including The Guide, which is specifically for housing.
You need to find your own transportation. Many workers at the beach ride bicycles, as parking spaces are hard to come by.
Be flexible in your work availability. Weekends and holidays are the busiest times at the beach, and they're the times employers most need employees. Stating on an application that you won't work weekends may cause an employer to throw your application away.
Employers value workers who can work throughout the entire season at the beach, from May to September. Workers who can start in May or work into September have an advantage.
